Dear Sir/Madam:

Thank you for your enquiry concerning entry to Canada as a Convention refugee seeking resettlement or a member of a humanitarian class. Enclosed please find the information, application forms and instructions advising you how to submit your application.

The forms include:

§       Application (s) for Permanent Residence in Canada (IMM8); you and every accompanying family member 18 or over must complete one of these applications

§       Family tree (Table A)

§       Immigration Questionnaire

§       Questionnaire to be completed by all men between the ages of 21 and 65

Please answer all questions fully and provide as much information and supporting documents as possible. The information you provide must allow a Canadian visa officer to assess whether you meet the definition of a Convention refugee seeking resettlement or whether you meet the definition of a Humanitarian Class.

The definitions are provided below. If you believe that you meet the definition of a Convention refugee seeking resettlement or a member of the source country class, you should provide all information which relates to the definition. You should also provide as much information as possible concerning your education, skills and work experience, including how you are earning a living at the present time. This will help the visa officer to assess your potential to settle successfully in Canada , as required by the regulations.
